Another recce of the Dome de la Sache (3588m) has begun to get the better of my hard earned patience. From a distance it looks like an easy mountain to climb, but as you get closer, it becomes complex. The Dome de la Sache (3588m) is not a great distance away from base camp (Lac de Tignes), but the terrain is awkward – scree slopes, low valley floors, and lack of footpaths. The main obstacle appears to be the Cretes des Platieres (gateway to the summit of the Dome de la Sache).
