It was a rest day for me but I agreed to belay Dylan up Resurrection on Dinas Cromlech. We (Dylan, Ella, and I) walked up to Dinas Cromlech in good spirit to eventually set up at the base of the climb. Resurrection is located on the Left Wall of Dinas Cromlech and is described as ‘a route of undeniable quality, sustained and strenuous, with a fingery crux at the top’. Perfect. There were quite a few people climbing other routes around us and they were astonished when Dylan did not put any gear in for the first 5m of the route, but eventually he found a gear placement, and it got better after that. The route finding on Resurrection is complex, meandering from left to right, but Dylan eventually topped out. It was an enjoyable day with the good weather and dry rock making us feel relaxed in a big mountain setting. For me, this was a learning opportunity (moral imperative).
