This crag, Drwys y Gwynt Uchaf, is located on the north side of Llanberis Pass, up left and above Clogwyn y Grochan. When you reach Drwys y Gwynt, continue further up the hillside to eventually reach to toe of Drwys y Gwynt Uchaf. More recently, the nomenclature of Drwys y Gwynt Uchaf has been referred to as Braich Llwyd Iasf (lower grey ridge). The rock on the lower grey ridge is as rough as sandpaper.
