I’ve been climbing with Alun Ward on Clogwyn Bochlwyd. I led Marble Slab, HS 4b ✔, Chimney Climb, S ✔, and Arete & Slab, D ✔.
Marble Slab was the highlight of the day, which was delicate climbing up a rough slab. This required lovely exercise of technique, with only one unbalanced move, which was required to gain an overlap. Marble Slab was a complete contrast to Chimney Climb, which was traditional, unwontedly fierce, and energetic.
